IT is used as a short form of the term information technology. IT jobs include the work done with different kind of technology, usually with computers. There are many fields of IT jobs as the technology develops day by day and so does the amount of technology used in everyday life increase all the time.
Quite often when people are talking about IT jobs mention only programming. Of course, this is one of the cores of IT jobs as well written program is the base of all the functions that a computer can do and as now computers are used for almost everything it is very important that the programs are working well.
IT jobs are usually learned in universities, but as in the Western world more or less every home has already a computer; there are many people who have learned everything that they know about IT on their own.
Quite often these people are even more skilled in different IT fields than the ones who have studied it for many years in school as when people are doing it on their own it is much easier to keep up with all the innovations than to change the curriculum as soon as something new comes up.
